Cookery Demos & Cupcakes Galore
Cupcakes Galore - hands-on baking courses - 11am-3pm Spend a day, stirring, baking and creating the most beautiful Cupcakes imaginable, lunch is included and you take home a lovely confectioners box of a dozen exquisite cupcakes to enjoy at home. Cookery Demonstration & Lunch 11am– 3.00pm
Cake is important at Harrop Fold Farm. We eat a lot of it, and as we've found it's an especially good way to start the day, a big plate of cakes and a pot of tea is how all our cookery courses kick off.
After a short introduction to the day's recipes, you'll spend the morning watching Leah prepare a feast of seasonal local ingredients, all the while chatting through the techniques used so you can easily replicate each dish once you get home.
Relaxed, your taste buds tingling, Leah will serve the dishes you've just seen prepared, accompanied by English red and white wine or fresh fruit juices and cordials.
The day ends around 3.00pm, when, hopefully feeling replete, pampered and utterly relaxed, you'll head home taking with you a file of the recipes you have just enjoyed offering an abundance of new ideas to try out in your own kitchen.
Cookery Demonstration and Dinner 7.30/8.00pm-10.30pm
There’s a celebratory feel as you arrive at Leah’s converted barn kitchen for the start of a Demo and Dine evening. Champagne flutes sparkle in the candlelight, there’s music playing and gorgeous little canapés provide explosively intense taste sensations, as guests mingle and chat about their day.
Bubbly poured and everyone seated at their elegantly decorated place settings in front of the Aga, Leah will embark on a course-by-course demonstration of how to cook the freshest and best of the Peak District’s ingredients for dinner.
You’ll be given a menu for the night accompanied by the relevant recipes that you can follow at home, and of course there’s lots of eating to be done as well as watching and learning. As each dish is cooked, it’s served, scoffed and then it’s on to the next; recipes which might flummox the tentative cook at home are demystified and simplified, with Leah offering chef’s tips and sneaky shortcuts for successful attempts at tricky dishes.
Four courses later, the evening ends with coffee and locally-made chocolates, at which point, full to bursting, you’ll take home with you your recipe file and, if you’re staying at Harrop Fold, amble the 50-yards across the courtyard).
