Welcome
to Harrop Fold Farm!
Harrop Fold
is set within its own 20 acres of land and visitors
are welcome to walk along the many footpaths that cross the
property. A footpath from the door reaches the Gritstone
Trail. There are two lovely brooks - Mellow Brook and Harrop
Brook, which are visited by a great variety of wildlife, and there
is a huge diversity of bird life to be seen around the farm.
Harrop Fold Farm is a smallholding nestling in a wooded
gritstone valley on the western side of the Peak District National
Park and has magnificent views over the Cheshire Plain to the
Welsh Mountains. It has a courtyard of attractive
traditional stone buildings that are of architectural and
archaeological interest and there is evidence of a Roman road
passing through. Archives also
suggest a tannery at Harrop Fold Farm was used by Bonnie Prince
Charlie as he made his way to Derby to attempt to seize the
English crown.
Professional artist Michael Moore, member of the Fine Art
Trade Guild, offers residential and day art courses.
Michael's original paintings are hung throughout the rooms.
The traditional Highwayman Inn is ¼ mile away by road or a
delightful 10-minute stroll through the fields. There
is an abundance of other country Inns and Restaurants locally.
